Justice (Retd) Chander Bhushan Barowalia, Lokayukta of Himachal, on Friday presented the annual report of the institution to Governor Kavinder Gupta at Lok Bhavan.
During the meeting, Justice (Retd) Barowalia held detailed discussions with the Governor on the functioning of the Lokayukta and various issues of public interest.
The Governor highlighted the importance of the Lokayukta in a democratic system, saying the institution plays a crucial role in strengthening transparency, accountability and good governance. He expressed confidence that the Lokayukta would continue to discharge its responsibilities with fairness, transparency and public trust.
The Lokayukta thanked the Governor and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to the prompt, impartial and effective redressal of public grievances. He said the Lokayukta would continue to perform its duties with utmost dedication and integrity.
