The Himachal Pradesh Police has launched a series of progressive welfare-oriented and citizen-centric initiatives aimed at modernising police infrastructure, improving the working environment of police personnel across the state.
These include subsidised police canteen facilities through the Kendriya Police Kalyan Bhandar (KPKB), Khaki Cafeteria, world-class gymnasium and fitness facilities and crèche facilities at the police headquarters as well as district headquarters.
DGP Ashok Tewari said that these facilities are providing essential commodities and daily-use items to police personnel and their families at economical rates, significantly contributing to their welfare and convenience.
“To further improve the morale and well-being of police personnel, hygienic and affordable cafeterias and canteens have been established at various police establishments. “Khaki Cafeteria” at Police Headquarters has emerged as a model initiative by offering quality food at reasonable prices. Similar modern canteen facilities have also been introduced at Vigilance Headquarters and district police offices for the benefit of police personnel” he said.
“Gymnasium and fitness facilities have been developed at Police Headquarters for police personnel and interested government officials. These facilities are promoting physical fitness, mental wellness, and stress management within the force, contributing to a healthier and more efficient work environment.
“Recognising the importance of family welfare, crèche facilities for the wards of police personnel have also been introduced at Police Headquarters, enabling working police officials to discharge their duties with greater peace of mind and professional efficiency” said the DGP.
He further said that the police have also undertaken extensive modernisation and infrastructure development of police offices and buildings across the State. “Office environments have been upgraded with improved working conditions, digital facilities, modern seating arrangements and citizen-friendly infrastructure aimed at enhancing productivity and fostering a positive work culture within the police force” he said.
