Dato' Seri Hishammuddin is firm with his decision to never want to form a new government with DAP and Anwar.
"Along with independent MPs, other parties are the subject of negotiations. If God wills, a federal government will soon be established" Muhyiddin stated in his tweet.
Although Pakatan Harapan and Perikatan Nasional received the highest numbers of chairs, 82 and 73 chairs respectively, the union between both parties is unlikely to happen.
This is due to Muhyiddin Yassin not wanting to collude with Pakatan Harapan, claiming that Pakatan Harapan was cruel when they were in power before. This statement is derived from an interview with New Straits Times on November 15.
Sarawak Premier Abang Johari Openg met with PAS President Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang and Perikatan Nasional (PN) Chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to discuss the formation of a federal administration.
As the results of this meeting, Premier Sarawak and Perikatan Nasional have both released an official statement stating that there will be a coalition between PN, BN, GPS and GRS.
However, a few hours after the official statement from PN and GPS has been released, Zahid Hamidi who has been quiet after the huge loss of BN in GE15 has released an official statement on behalf of Barisan Nasional.
"I want to emphasise that, in contrast to a remark made by GPS chairman and Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg, BN never ever bargained with GPS to provide its consent to establishing a federal administration with PN." said the president of UMNO.
In the 15th General Election (GE15), all BN members of parliament who won said they had signed a commitment and handed Zahid the authority to choose any political coalitions that would form the federal government.
Accordingly, any MPs who disobey party directives risk having their memberships revoked and losing their seats, in accordance with the Federal Constitution's anti-party hopping rule, explained Zahid Hamidi.
Zahid's statement has received a lot of reaction from BN MPs and one of them is Dato' Seri Hishammuddin.
"As I emphasized yesterday and before, I still reject cooperation with Pakatan Harapan. I am willing to be fired by the party but never change this full stance. No Anwar, no DAP. Anyone who feels they can take action to fire me for sticking to this position, go ahead." said Hishammudin through his instagram.
