It was a proud day for Malaysians as National lawn bowler Nurul Ain made history becoming the first Malaysian to take home the gold at the recent World Bowls Indoor Championship in Guernsey.

Making her first ever appearance at the tournament, Nurul Ain showcased her prowess, defeating her opponent from Malta, Connie Rixon, with straight set wins of 6-2 and 6-3 in the final.

This has not been the first time our champion has clinched a medal. Earlier in March, Farah had also clinched a gold medal at the Asian Championships in the women's four-team event.

Before leaving for Guernsey, Nadi Arena reporter Karl Nunis managed to speak to Farah to get an insight into the athlete's preparation for the world championships in Guernsey. Speaking to him, she stood firm on the fact that she was determined not to just be a village champion.

"I'm not a village champion so the first step I need to take in Guernsey is to prove that I can beat the previous world champion", Farah said on April 8.

Those words will eventually ring true as Farah Ain truly proved that she is no longer just a village champion and is now seated amongst the greats on the world stage.
