The authorities organised HIV testing and awareness camps at the construction sites associated with the 24×7 canal-based water supply project. More than 100 workers have been tested so far.
Officials said that alongside construction activities, dedicated efforts were being undertaken to promote health and community well-being across all project sites. The HIV testing and awareness camps were organised at Trikona Park OHSR site, park opposite Veer Palace and Kesari Enclave OHSR site, among other locations. The initiative is aimed at raising awareness on HIV prevention, encouraging voluntary testing and facilitating access to healthcare services for workers engaged in the project, the officials added.
Superintending engineer (SE projects) Parul Goyal said all sites will be covered in a phased manner to ensure maximum reach among the workforce.
