This time being categorised as senior citizens, for my wife, Zarina & I, our purpose for revisiting Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) is to relax and enjoy the indigenous cultures blend in their cuisine. We stayed at the hotel that is within the premises of the busy Nguyen An Nihn in District 1 of HCMC which is just a walking distance to halal restaurants and shopping bazaars. This area is also famously known as Malaysian Street where we can find many good offer of halal food & fresh hot local coffee to open our mind and heart for inspiration.
So, we indulge in various local cuisine as its menu, which showcases halal-certified delicious seafood especially its fresh fish, boasts local-renowned grilled meats and authentic Vietnamese delicacies. The moment we set foot in these restaurants, we feel like we have been transported to a friendly Malaysian restaurants that exemplifies warm captivating of our hometowns in Malaysia and present-day customs & culture. The customer service staffers welcomed us with Islamic greetings & courteously speak in good Bahasa Melayu.
This place is a great atmosphere of networking for a sensory people to people feast from all over the world. Our interaction over food transforms into conversations and each meal becomes an unforgettable experience. I understand these restaurants commitment to high standards and excellence is evident in sourcing of local fresh halal-certified ingredients.
I observed due to the healthy competitions among these restaurants and the strict issuance of Halal Certificate by the Commission Board of Islam in HCMC signed by the Imam Haji Yusuf Ibrahim (Hiem Mach Duso), that pushed the boundaries of their culinary arts and experience. This on-going enforcement to detail is evident in every element, from the delicate plating to the surprising flavour combinations. Diners are encouraged to embrace the unique culinary experience in evolving where flavours converge with its cleanliness.
