Kota Kinabalu: Off-road 4X4 associations or clubs here in Sabah are urged to organise more events in extremely rural areas to expose their tourism potential.

Kimanis Member of Parliament Datuk Mohamad Alamin made the call in his speech read by Bongawan community development leader Yusoff Minin during the Sirung Sumandak Crocker Range No Turning Back Expedition 6.1 flag off ceremony on Thursday.

He said the involvement of local and foreign journalists will help the government to promote community-based tourism in the State.

Meanwhile, some 60 vehicles involving more than 120 personnel from Sabah, Sarawak, Brunei, Indonesia, United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland and Canada took part in the expedition organised by Whiskey Radio Station (WRS) Four Wheel Drive Club scheduled to end on Sunday (December 4).
