Honda Malaysia celebrates three of the first owners of the new Prelude, a RM278,000 hybrid coupe with 184PS, S+ Shift and Civic Type R-derived chassis hardware.
HONDA Malaysia has celebrated the ownership journeys of three of the first customers to take delivery of the new Honda Prelude, following the sixth-generation coupe’s local launch in June.
The three owners, Gan Ker Beng, Wahiduzaman Abu Kashim and Dr. Davina Navreet Kaur, were brought together at a customer appreciation event highlighting their individual connections to the Prelude and Honda.

For Gan, an entrepreneur from Johor Bahru, the Prelude fulfils a dream dating back to the 1990s. He had wanted one while owning his first Honda Civic but could not afford it at the time. The return of the nameplate to Malaysia gave him the opportunity to finally own one nearly three decades later.

Wahiduzaman, a Kuala Lumpur business owner and long-time Honda enthusiast, came to the Prelude from a history of owning Honda performance models. He was drawn to the coupe as a balance between driving enjoyment and everyday comfort, with the new S+ Shift technology adding to its more engaging character.

Dr. Davina, meanwhile, chose the Prelude as her first Honda. She grew up seeing older-generation Preludes around Subang and had long wanted to own a red coupe. A fan of Honda’s hybrid technology, she placed her booking without first test driving the car.
The new Prelude returns to Malaysia as a hybrid grand tourer powered by Honda’s 2.0-litre e system. The petrol engine produces 143PS and 189Nm, while the electric motor develops 184 PS and 315 Nm, with drive sent through an e-CVT. It accelerates from zero to 100km/h in 8.2 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 188km/h.

It also borrows key chassis hardware from the Civic Type R, including a dual-axis strut front suspension and Adaptive Damper System. The Prelude is the first Honda model in Malaysia to feature S+ Shift, which simulates gear changes and synchronises them with engine revs, Active Sound Control and the driver display for a more conventional performance driving experience.
The sixth-generation Honda Prelude is priced at RM278,000 on-the-road without insurance in Malaysia. It is offered in Winter Frost Pearl, Rallye Red and Crystal Black Pearl.
