Global leading AI device ecosystem company HONOR officially announces that its next-generation foldable flagship, the HONOR Magic V6, will launch in Malaysia on 4 June 2026. Continuing HONOR’s record as the world’s thinnest foldable smartphone at just 8.75mm folded, the HONOR Magic V6 now sets a new benchmark in foldable durability after achieving an ASIA Record for the title ‘Heaviest Aircraft Towed by a Foldable Smartphone’.
The record-breaking achievement was recognized during an exclusive showcase event held at SkyPark Regional Aviation Centre today. To demonstrate the foldable phone’s revolutionary Super Steel Hinge, HONOR conducted an extreme durability test by using the device to pull a 1.25 tonne Diamond DA42 aircraft for 150 meters. HONOR further demonstrated the foldable’s durability by pulling a Ferrari sports car for 30 meters and even using the Magic V6 as a pull-up bar. Even after enduring all three extreme trials, the HONOR Magic V6 emerged completely unscathed, with no screen cracks or dented frame and operating in perfect working condition.
Industry-leading HONOR Super Steel Hinge: Improved rigidity with 2,800 MPa tensile strength
The record-breaking durability of the HONOR Magic V6 is driven by the HONOR Super Steel Hinge, boasting an industry-leading tensile strength of 2,800 MPa. This exceptional rigidity, surpassing that of a car’s A-pillar, enabled the fold to successfully pull a Ferrari and a 1.25-tonne aircraft. Designed to withstand intensive daily open-and-close usage, the hinge has successfully cleared 500,000 folding cycle tests, equivalent to over 13 years of reliable daily usage. To further protect complex internal components, an innovative AI-assisted bionic cushioning system disperses impact forces, ensuring maximum protection against accidental drops.
Tougher External Display with HONOR Anti-Scratch Nano Crystal Shield
Beyond structural durability, the HONOR Magic V6 introduces major advancements in foldable display reliability. The external display is protected by the next-generation HONOR Anti-Scratch Nano Crystal Shield, which utilises a 5,600-layer silicon nitride coating. This innovative engineering delivers 10-times drop resistance and 15-times scratch resistance and three-times anti-reflection. The display is built to endure, proven to withstand up to 27,000 cycles of rigorous steel-wool abrasion testing. The display’s extreme resilience was demonstrated at the event, where it successfully endured a high intensity test using a wire brush drill.
Robust Inner Display and Less Reflections with HONOR Magic Diamond Screen
The foldable’s inner display is protected by the ground-breaking HONOR Magic Diamond Screen. Engineered with advanced Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) flexible technology, it delivers a near-zero crease visual experience while maintaining long-term structural stability. The advanced display architecture has secured multiple certifications, including SGS 5-Star Reliability Low Reflectivity Certification, 24-hour TÜV Rheinland Battery Life Certification and No.1 ranking in wear resistance performance.
First Foldable to Achieve IP68 and IP69 Rating
Further strengthening its durability credentials, the HONOR Magic V6 achieves both IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance certifications, providing stronger protection and confidence for everyday use across various environments.
