HONOR Magic8 Pro has been officially launched in Malaysia, and as before, the new flagship puts emphasis on camera and AI features, the latter of which isn’t too surprising given that the Chinese smartphone maker officially addresses itself as “global AI device ecosystem company” now. (Speaking of which – during the event, we were shown the Robot Phone trailer that announces its projected debut in MWC Barcelona 2026 as the ‘one more thing’.)
HONOR Magic8 Pro

Anyway, back to the star of the show. The HONOR Magic8 Pro is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, with features like AI rendering separation (which sounds like a fancier version of VSync with potentially some AI infill to reduce perceived framerate jitter), and “GPU-NPU Heterogeneous AI Super-Frame Technology” that, in plain English, means super resolution and frame generation support. There’s also a third button on the right side of the chassis, below the power button, dubbed “AI Button”, which is basically HONOR’s version of iPhone’s Action Button.
On the imaging side of things, the triple rear camera setup includes a 200MP telephoto camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor, f/2.6 aperture, CIPA 5.5-grade stabilization and 3.7x optical zoom. The wide camera is courtesy of 50MP 1/1.3-inch sensor with f/1.6 aperture, and a 50MP ultrawide camera with a 122° FOV and macro capability. At the front, the pill-shaped punch hole features another 50MP sensor, plus a 3D depth-sensing camera for biometrics (and it gets an under-screen ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, too). Notably, HONOR also introduced a new editing feature called Magic Color, which is essentially an AI-powered one-tap color grading feature.

The Magic8 Pro’s 6.71-inch FHD+ 120Hz OLED display reaches a peak brightness of 1,800 nits (with 4,000 nits at 20% APL, or 6,000 nits HDR peak) and integrates multiple eye-comfort technologies, including chip-level defocus, dynamic dimming, circular polarized display technology and circadian night adjustments. It is the first device to receive TÜV Rheinland Full Care Display 5.0 Certification, and also features 4320Hz PWM dimming along with a flicker detection function that alerts users to external lighting sources that may cause eye strain.
Protecting the display is the NanoCrystal Shield glass which HONOR says achieves SGS five-star drop-test certification, and it’s also the first flagship from the brand to carry IP69K ingress protection rating, the ‘9K’ part of which indicates resistance to high-temperature water and high-pressure water jets. That’s on top of the IP68 rating that allows the smartphone to be submerged for a limited time. Finally, the Magic8 Pro is powered by a 7,100mAh silicon-carbon battery with 100W wired charging and 80W wireless charging support.
The HONOR Magic8 Pro will be available in Sunrise Gold, Sky Cyan and Black in 12GB+512GB for RM4,599 and 16GB+1TB for RM5,199, with nationwide availability beginning 5 December 2025. Before then, pre-orders are now open with customers eligible for a gift bundle valued at RM3,090 that includes an Insta360 Ace Pro action camera, 365-day front and back crack protection, a one-year extended warranty, a one-year liquid damage protection warranty, and a 3-month Google AI Pro subscription.
