Hoshiarpur’s Senior Women’s Cricket team made history by securing a place in the final of the Punjab Cricket Association Inter-District Senior Women’s Cricket tournament after a dominant 95-run victory over Barnala in the semi-final played at Barnala.

According to HDCA secretary Dr Raman Ghai, Barnala won the toss and decided to field first in the 50-over match. Batting first, Hoshiarpur scored 195 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 50 overs. Opener Pooja Devi played an excellent innings of 77 runs, while captain Suhana contributed 42 runs. Shivani added 30 runs and Manpreet Olakh remained unbeaten on 11 runs.

For Barnala, Mamta Rani was the most successful bowler with four wickets. Amarjot Kaur claimed two wickets, while Akshita Bhagat and Sukhmeet Kaur took one wicket each. Chasing a target of 196 runs, the Barnala batting line-up struggled against the disciplined bowling attack of Hoshiarpur. The entire team was bowled out for just 100 runs in 24.1 overs.

National player Surbhi took six wickets for 28 runs, Anjali Seemar claimed two wickets for 22 runs, while Dhruvika Seth also picked up two wickets, conceding 27 runs. Dr Raman Ghai said that with this impressive victory, Hoshiarpur has entered the final for the first time and created history. The team will now face Patiala in the final match on June 21 at the PCA Stadium, Chandigarh.

HDCA president Dr Daljit Khela congratulated the team and appreciated the efforts of coach Davinder Kaur Kalyan and assistant coach Nikita Kumari for their dedication in training the players. He expressed confidence that the team would continue its excellent form in the final.
