Kota Kinabalu: The Sepeda Amal Borneo (SAB2025) charity ride themed “Pedal for Care, Ride for Hope,” from July 27 to Aug 1, covering 600km from Sandakan to here is to raise funds and awareness for the establishment of the Malaysian Children’s Hospice (MCH) Kota Kinabalu, the first of its kind in Sabah.

It is organized by the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) and the Malaysian Association of Paediatric Palliative Care (Mappac).

MMA President Dato’ Dr Kalwinder Singh Khaira said paediatric palliative care is crucial in providing specialised medical, emotional and psychological support for children with life-limiting illnesses.

“This is more than just a cycling event. Every kilometre cycled extends warmth and support to children and families in need. Many families, and even healthcare providers, may not fully understand the benefits of paediatric palliative care.
