Housing loans post double-digit growth in H1 2026

MANILA, Philippines — Pag-IBIG Fund's home loan releases hit double digit growth in the first half of 2026.

Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary (DHSUD) Jose Ramon Aliling reported that from January to June of this year, socialized home loans to minimum wage and low income members reached P6.70 billion, up 118 percent from last year, while the number of units financed climbed 132 percent to 6,601.

It was also reported that socialized housing loans now accounted for 15 percent of total units financed by the Pag-IBIG Fund, which the agency said “underscores the growing share of low income borrowers” in its overall lending.

The growth gave the agency’s total home loan releases to P69.19 billion for 43,051 units in the first half of the year, which is up 15 percent in amount and 9 percent in units financed compared with the P60.25 billion released in the same period in 2025.
