Former Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar criticized Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for acting as though he was unaware of the 16th Addendum Order of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (YDPA) of Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's home arrest.
He claimed that Anwar ought not to have declared that he was not responsible for resolving the situation.
"How can Anwar claim that this does not concern him? Even though this involves five of his ministers, Dr. Zaliha Mustafa, Minister of Federal Territories; Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Minister of Home Affairs; and Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (JPM) Law and Institutional Reform, are the three respondents.
"His two other ministers, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, went to take pictures of the order, and the five people who took Zafrul had pictures (Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi), how can he say he (the government) is not involved?" asked Khairy.
He made this statement on Monday on the 97th episode of the Keluar Sekejap Podcast Program, featuring Shahril Sufian Hamdan, the former Youth Vice Leader of UMNO.
Anwar reportedly stated that the government would not challenge the YDPA's and the Malay Rulers' judgments on any matter, including Najib's request for house detention, according to Malay Mail.
The Federal Territories Pardon Board and the YDPA were the two parties involved in the conversation, according to the minister of finance.
Khairy went on to say that the government appeared to be acting uninformed of the Addendum in the hopes that it would "disappear" and not be brought up by any party.
"He had no idea Zahid would write this affidavit out of the blue. Zahid has a talent for "eating around."
"In certain cases, he has 'eaten' Anwar... because he has become the Deputy Prime Minister," he stated.
According to Khairy, Ahmad Zahid's actions were motivated by fear that Najib's followers would find out about the Addendum Order and ask when it would be completed.
He said that Najib would be pleased with his efforts if the Bagan Datuk Member of Parliament subtly confirmed the existence of an additional order.
