Is 2026 the year of the Chanel man? It certainly looks like it: Harry Styles took to the stage in a Chanel pinstripe suit and ballet flats at the BRIT Awards last week. Jacob Elordi spent the Wuthering Heights press tour wearing pieces from Matthieu Blazy’s debut Chanel collection. And in February, when Kendrick Lamar made history as the most-awarded rapper of all time at the Grammys, he was clad in a custom black tuxedo from the French fashion house.

Lamar is one of several male celebrities who have been named as a Chanel brand ambassador in recent months, joining that rarefied roster that includes Timothee Chalamet and K-pop star G-Dragon. The latest is Thai actor Gemini Norawit, who has been regularly attending Chanel fashion shows, including the Fall/Winter 2026 show at Paris Fashion Week. BTS’s Jungkook was appointed as global beauty ambassador of Chanel Fragrances and Beauty last December, mere weeks after A$AP Rocky was selected by Blazy to be a house ambassador.

The Don’t Be Dumb rapper has been wearing Blazy’s Chanel pretty enthusiastically, rocking everything from the button-down shirts and tweed jackets to the perforated logo brogues from the Spring/Summer 2026 women’s collection. And, like Gemini and Pedro Pascal, A$AP Rocky is one of the famous, fashionable men who have been embracing the appeal of a Chanel handbag.

“I don’t know who drew the line between femininity—or just being feminine—and masculinity… but I don’t see any barriers for me,” said A$AP Rocky in a Vogue interview. He echoes a sentiment that was expressed by Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel through her style and her revolutionary designs: the French fashion designer took plenty of inspiration from menswear, especially the tweed jackets and classic button-down shirts that she borrowed from her lovers.

Blazy alluded to that in his first Chanel collection. The crisp shirts, which have been seen on Elordi and A$AP Rocky, were crafted using the fabrics and techniques of Charvet, the French shirtmaker that was favoured by Coco’s lover Boy Capel. And the cropped, boxy jackets that opened the show were the result of Blazy hacking away at his own blazer to match the proportions of a classic Chanel cardigan.

It’s no wonder that Chanel speaks to the lads just as well as the ladies, despite not having an official menswear line. Stylist Daryll Alexius Yeo, who dressed the celebrities at Chanel’s Cruise 2026 replica show in Singapore last year, also notes that there has been a shift in men’s attitudes that makes Chanel all the more alluring to them. “There’s less rigidity around what masculinity ‘should’ look like,” he says.

For the Chanel show in Singapore, Yeo put the likes of Gemini, JJ Lin and Benjamin Kheng in glittering tweed jackets and soft knitwear from the maison. The women’s pieces looked perfectly natural on the male stars. “I styled the looks to feel like they belonged to the men wearing them,” Yeo says. “To me, when a look feels effortless, it stops being about gender and more about style.”

Ahead, Yeo offers his tips on how men can start wearing Chanel confidently, the must-have Chanel pieces to add to their wardrobes, and how he would style those covetable Charvet shirts.

How did the men you styled for Chanel’s Cruise 2026 show in Singapore feel about wearing the Chanel pieces?

Daryll Alexius Yeo (DAY): Very comfortably and naturally actually, which is always the benchmark. I approached the styling with a disciplined edit. So, think more of a muted palette, a subtle contrast, and a nod to ’90s dressing. No excessive jewellery, no overstatement. What really made it work wasn’t the clothes, it was the attitude. Once they put the pieces on, they owned them. That confidence changes everything because Chanel responds best to ease.

How would you describe the Chanel man?

DAY: I would describe the Chanel man as someone who is comfortable in his own skin, inquisitive and creatively multifaceted. He is self-assured, but never loud.

Which male celebrity, in your opinion, pulls off Chanel best, and why?

DAY: Two names come to mind immediately: Jacob Elordi and Kendrick Lamar. Jacob Elordi has a wonderfully relaxed approach to Chanel. I loved his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! where he wore the brand with an almost nonchalant ease—undone yet polished. It never feels costume-like on him. Kendrick Lamar, on the other hand, brings a different energy. His Grammy tuxedo moment was sharp, opulent, and imbued with swagger. There’s precision in how he carries tailoring, but also cultural weight. Chanel on Kendrick feels relevant and powerful. Both of them represent two very different interpretations, and that’s the beauty of it.

What are some classic Chanel pieces that a man can incorporate into his wardrobe?

DAY: A strong starting point would be the J12 Calibre ceramic watch. It’s equal parts sporty and refined, something he could wear daily, yet it transitions seamlessly into evening. That duality for me feels very Chanel. For bags, I’m partial to a vintage Maxi Classic Flap on a guy, ideally in navy or black, and credibly sourced from Japan. It can be worn casually across the body with soft tailoring or with a T-shirt and denim. It’s practical and iconic. And of course, a fragrance. A signature scent is the most intimate accessory a man can have. Personally, I gravitate towards Coromandel from the Les Exclusifs de Chanel range. It’s warm, complex, and quietly commanding.

What are some pieces from Matthieu Blazy’s debut Chanel collection that you think men can wear too?

DAY: I’m particularly drawn to the Charvet-style white shirt from Matthieu Blazy’s debut collection for Spring/Summer 2026, the one with the brand’s cursive logo and the iconic hemline chain detail traditionally found inside Chanel jackets. There’s something incredibly masculine and chic about that subtle weight at the hem, allowing the shirt to fall perfectly. That’s definitely a piece I would wear myself, styled simply with straight-cut jeans and pointed leather loafers for that off-duty look.

What do you think makes Chanel so appealing to men today? And why does the brand appeal to you, personally?

DAY: I think men today are far more open to nuance in dressing. There’s less rigidity around what masculinity “should” look like. We’re in a moment where masculinity is being recalibrated, and celebrated. Personally, as a stylist, I’m drawn to fashion houses that value construction and heritage over noise. Chanel has always been about codes: independence, refinement, and restraint. When those codes are applied to men wearing the brand, they feel progressive without being reactionary.
