Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe insists he will always give playing chances to those young players who deserve it.
Howe has been happy to introduce the likes of Elliot Anderson and Lewis Miley so far this season.
He told Chronicle Live: "I think it is great from my perspective to reward players with opportunities who have come through the academy. There are opportunities for them if they are good enough.
"And you can see with Lewis Miley being on the bench in the Champions League and Elliot Anderson coming on those opportunities are really there. I have said all along we don't have a huge squad.
"So we want to use the academy a place to bring players through. We will bring them into training with the first-team and develop them. It is a huge part of what we are trying to do."
