Huawei is still on top of the smartwatch game.

The tech giant has retained its position as the world’s No. 1 brand for wrist-worn device shipments in the first half of 2026, capturing more than 20% of the global market, according to the latest IDC Quarterly Wearable Device Tracker.

And Malaysian consumers have another reason to pay attention — the brand is set to launch the HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Series in Malaysia on 29 September 2026.

Huawei has held the top spot in China’s wrist-worn device market by shipment volume since 2021, while also securing the No. 1 position globally multiple times since 2024.

The company attributes its continued growth to its expanding smartwatch line-up, with different devices designed for everything from serious training and everyday wellness to luxury tech and children’s wearables.

For runners, the HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2 comes with features including a Marathon mode and running power metric, allowing users to track their performance from training and race preparation through to recovery.

Huawei also teamed up with legendary marathon runner Eliud Kipchoge and his team for the HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2 Racing Legend Edition, which comes with a Training Camp Dashboard featuring detailed performance metrics and data analysis.

For those who prefer shorter workouts, the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 Series introduced a Mini-workout feature, offering quick exercise routines that can be squeezed into short breaks during the day.

Meanwhile, the HUAWEI WATCH ULTIMATE DESIGN Spring Edition takes things in a more luxurious direction, combining premium design with health features including menstrual cycle tracking and wellness insights designed around women’s health.

Even the younger generation gets its own smartwatch experience through the HUAWEI WATCH KIDS X1 Series, which features multiple wearing options, dual cameras and advanced positioning technology.

Now, Huawei is bringing its latest wearable technology to Malaysia.

The HUAWEI WATCH GT 7 Series will officially launch locally on 29 September 2026, adding to the brand’s growing smartwatch portfolio in the Malaysian market.

More details on pricing, availability and specifications are expected to be revealed closer to the launch.

For the latest updates, consumers can check out HUAWEI Experience Stores and the brand’s official online channels.
