Huawei has officially launched their new Pura 90s series in Malaysia. These are the Chinese giant’s latest flagship smartphones, and are essentially the same as the Pura 90 series in China, albeit for the global market instead.
Huawei Pura 90s series Malaysia pricing and availability
The Huawei Pura 90s series will feature two models, the Huawei Pura 90s Pro and the Pura 90s Pro Max. Both come in just a single configuration with 12GB of memory and 512GB of storage, and they’re now available for pre-order from the Huawei Malaysia website, their retail outlets nationwide as well as their official stores on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop.
Priced at RM3,999 and RM4,899 for the Pura 90s Pro and Pura 90s Pro Max respectively, pre-orders will get free gifts worth up to RM3,076, which include a RM400 rebate, dropping the price tags down to RM3,699 and RM4,499. The free gifts also include a mystery gift worth RM999 and a Premium Services package worth RM1,699.
Huawei Pura 90s series specs and features
The Huawei Pura 90s Pro and Pura 90s Pro Max share a very similar design, both with the triangular rear camera layout, aluminum frames and glass backs. Both are also powered by their own Kirin 9030S system-on-chip, along with 12GB of memory and 512GB of storage. Curiously, they appear to come with an all new EMUI 16 OS out of the box, based on a heavily modified Android 16; considering that the last previous EMUI versions have been based on Android 12, this is a nice upgrade.
The most noticeable difference between the two devices though is in their size. The Pura 90s Pro rocks a 6.6-inch OLED panel with a 2760 x 1256 resolution while the Pro Max gets a 6.9-inch OLED with a 2880 x 1308 resolution instead; both offer a 460PPI density and a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.
In the camera department, a 50MP, f/1.4-4.0 main shooter with a variable aperture is standard across the two. However, the Pro Max has a 200MP, f/2.6 telephoto shooter offering 4x optical zoom and a 40MP, f/2.2 ultrawide, while the Pro gets a 50MP, f/2.1 telephoto with 4x optical zoom and a 12.5MP, f/2.2 ultrawide instead. They both also get a 13MP, f/2.0 front camera for your selfies.
As for battery, the Pura 90s Pro and Pro Max both get a 6,000mAh battery in Malaysia, with support for 66W wired and 50W wireless charging on the Pro, while the Pro Max gets 100W wired and 80W wireless instead.
Other features of note for the Pura 90s series include side-mounted fingerprint sensors, stereo speakers, IP68/69 dust and water resistance ratings as well as support for WiFI 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 wireless connectivity.
