
LAHAD DATU: Human skeletal remains were found in a drainage area along a hillside in Taman Pertama 1 here on Tuesday.
Acting Lahad Datu police chief Supt Jimmy Panyau said police received information about the discovery at 10.53am.
He said the identity of the deceased has yet to be established and the skeletal remains have been sent to the Forensic Department of Lahad Datu Hospital for further examination.
At press time, the case had been classified as a Sudden Death Report (SDR).
Jimmy urged anyone with information or who has a missing family member to lodge a report at the nearest police station or contact SM Ronney Lajius at 010-4641072 to assist investigations, while also advising the public to refrain from speculation on social media out of respect for the family and to avoid disrupting the investigation.
