Hundreds of villagers gathered to witness the ‘funeral’
Believing the funeral was real and that the former Indian Air Force soldier had truly passed away, hundreds of villagers gathered to attend.
The man, Mohan Lal, covered in a white sheet, was placed in a coffin adorned with flower garlands.
According to NDTV, Mohan shocked everyone when it was revealed that he had staged the entire funeral just to see who would mourn his death.

“I wanted to see how much respect and affection people have for me”
The incident occurred in Konchi village, Guraru block of Bihar’s Gaya district, where he organised his own funeral ceremony while he was still alive to see how much affection he would get after death.
He even asked some people to take him to the crematorium on a decorated bier, following all the rituals, with some emotional songs also playing in the background.
“After death, people carry the bier, but I wanted to see it myself to know how much respect and affection people really have for me,” Mohan explained.
