TAWAU: An elderly couple and their daughter were robbed by three armed robbers at their home in Bandar Sri Indah, Batu 10, Jalan Apas, at around 3am, on Friday.
Deputy district police chief Supt Champin Piuh said that all the victims, aged between 40s and 60s, who were tied using phone charger wires, did not suffer any injuries.
According to him, also in the house at the time of the incident were the four grandchildren of the elderly couple.
"All the victims were sleeping before being woken up by three masked men who broke into the main door holding a long machete.

Champin said the robbers made away with cash, jewellery, several mobile phones and two tablets with an estimated loss of RM4,500.
According to him, the police are now hunting the suspects.
The case is being investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for armed robbery.
