
Kota Kinabalu: The Sessions Court fixed Nov 14 this year for mention the case involving a 30-year-old man charged with causing grievous hurt to his sister.
The court set the date for Mohamad Firdaus Arbi as he is still under observation at Hospital Mesra in Bukit Padang.
Firdaus is accused of causing grievous hurt to Jumat Arbi, 51, with a knife at 6.30pm on March 8, this year at a house in Kg Pasir Putih, Putatan.
The offence under Section 326 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to 20 years, and liable to a fine and whipping, on conviction.
So far, no plea was taken from Mohamad.
Meanwhile, two men were sent to prison for entering the State illegally.
Asri Omong pleaded guilty and was sentenced to five months’ jail and ordered given a stroke of the cane.
He was arrested on Oct 14 this year after he failed to produce his identification document to the police in Papar.
Sarimal Hajal was jailed seven months plus a stroke of the cane after he was arrested on Oct 16 this year at the city area after failing to produce his identification document to the police.
The court ordered the illegal immigrants to serve their jail sentence from the date of their arrests.
After completing their jail sentence, Asri and Sarimal were ordered referred to the Immigration Department for deportation to their respective countries.
