President Donald Trump’s love of gold emerged once again Friday when he joked that he was “keeping” the Olympic medal of a U.S. champion speed skater.
The president was attending an agriculture roundtable in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, June 5, when Olympic gold medallist Jordan Stolz place the medallion around his neck.
The crowd erupted into chants of “USA! USA!” and Trump joked to the Wisconsin native that he intended to keep the medal.
“I’m keeping it, Jordan. I’m not giving it back,” the president said. “I’m very good at keeping gold. I like gold. I’m never giving this back.”
