With Ramadan officially in motion, bazaars serving various food and beverages to Muslim customers looking to break fast have sprung up across the country.

However, Ramadan bazaars have also led to an explosion of complaints as well, with many either ranting about spoilt or expensive food.

Paid RM109 for 3 items

In a Threads post, a woman lamented over having to fork out a huge amount of money to buy three kinds of food from a Ramadan bazaar.

According to the receipt, she bought:

  • 100g of beef brisket (RM28.50)
  • 100g of beef back ribs (RM56.05)
  • Mac & cheese with pulled lamb (RM25)

This inevitably left the OP in shock and she wondered whether the money spent was worth it at all.

This is such a waste of money and I spent RM109 for it. Never expected that it’d come to that amount after picking the items.

“I felt so dumb right after the purchase and I’m going to dine in instead of buying food from bazaars next time,” she added.

Mixed reactions

On one hand, netizens agreed with the OP that she had paid way too much for the food, saying that she was better off going for buffets instead.

On the other hand, some said the OP should have seen it coming as she had ordered “premium” items which would cost way more.
