When caught breaking the law by the authorities, drivers would come up with all kinds of excuses under the sun so that they can wiggle their way out of trouble.

A businesswoman tried to put up a defense by using an age-old excuse, but the Road Transport Department (JPJ) officers were having none of it.

Pinned blame on family

The Vibes reported that the businesswoman was intercepted by JPJ officers who were carrying out ‘Ops Khas Luxury’ at Jalan Tun Razak.

Kuala Lumpur JPJ director, Hamidi Adam, said in a statement that when officers inspected the Bentley she was driving, they discovered that its road tax and insurance had expired since 2018.

When questioned, the woman claimed that she had “overlooked” renewing the Bentley’s road tax and insurance, adding that it was usually done by her family.

Unfortunately for her, the officers didn’t buy her excuse and seized the vehicle for further action in accordance with the Road Transport Act 1987.
