In this day and age, there are drivers who will try to bend every rule in the book to avoid paying their dues or having their vehicles seized by authorities.

Unfortunately for one Lexus owner in Tapah, Perak, it simply wasn’t his lucky day after Road Transport Department (JPJ) officers intercepted him and discovered he had committed several violations.

Had multiple violations

According to a Facebook post by JPJ Perak, it wrote that a white Lexus was seized during the ‘Op Luxury’ operation carried out yesterday (Feb 5).

A closer inspection found that the driver had committed the following offenses:

  • Used a number plate that belonged to a Myvi
  • Had a vehicle licence that expired on Sept 8, 2024
  • Had no valid insurance coverage

The driver was subsequently issued three summonses and one seizure notice under Section 64(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 (Act 333).

As for the Lexus, it was seized and taken to the JPJ Tapah Seizure Depot for further action.

Netizens were tickled by the news and expressed amusement in the comment section.

One jokingly asked for the Lexus’ number plate to be unblurred so that he could use it to buy a lottery ticket.
