The I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! cast are settled into jungle life after their third day at camp.

On Tuesday night’s episode (19 November), Tulisa Contostavlos opened up about identifying as “demisexual”. Radio DJ Dean McCullough faced the Bushtucker trial. It left him in tears and he only secured two stars for his fellow stars, which left Ant and Dec “disappointed.”

McCullough’s challenge, which saw him trapped in a box with mealworms and crickets, came after an emotional start to the 2024 series. During one moving campsite chat in Monday night’s episode, boxer Barry McGuigan broke down in tears as he opened up about the loss of his daughter, Danika, while Coleen Rooney reflected on the death of her sister, who died when she was 14.

Among this year’s contestants are N-Dubz singer Contostavlos, Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall and Strictly Come Dancing pro Oti Mabuse. Others include McFly singer Danny Jones, McGuigan and Rooney, who is the show’s highest-paid star in its history.

New episodes of I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! air on ITV1 and ITVX every night at 9pm.

Dean was left in tears after tonight’s Trial

Tuesday 19 November 2024 23:00

Ellie Harrison

Dean was chosen by the public to face the second Bushtucker Trial of the series, “The Sinister Sarcophagus”.

At the Trial area, Ant and Dec introduced him to a mummy figurine that he was then locked into for the duration of the Trial, while having to answer a series of Egypt-related questions. For every one he answered correctly, a star was lowered down for him to release using only his mouth within 30 seconds.

Entering the sarcophagus, he admitted: “This is my worst nightmare because I can’t get out.”

As the Trial kicked off, sand was entered into Dean’s body compartment, reaching his legs, and he was joined by giant mealworms and crickets tipped into his head compartment. After answering two correct questions and successfully releasing the stars, it all got too much for Dean and he shouted the line: “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!”

When Dean exited, he explained that he couldn’t hack it because he really did not like not being able to move his legs.

The campmates forgave Dean very quickly for only winning two stars for the camp.

“God loves a trier, mate,” said Tulisa.

“When you’re face to face with your fear, it’s a lot. So I felt for him,” added Melvin in the Bush Telegraph.

Poor Dean...

Barry and Jane missed out on their luxury items!

Tuesday 19 November 2024 22:02

Ellie Harrison

All luxury items won in the day’s challenge have been chosen by the campmate’s loved ones...

Alan received a golf putter, GK a cosy dressing gown, Coleen a personalised pillow with a family photo on it, Danny a lilo, Dean a moisturiser, Melvin a personalised pillow, with both his girlfriend and celebrity crush Carol Vorderman on it, Tulisa an inflatable chair and Oti the gift of music, being entitled three plays of her favourite song, Bon Jovi’s “It’s My Life”.

But because Alan and Danny only won eight out of 10, sadly Barry and Jane missed out this time.

Alan and Danny are having a bit more success than Dean...

...But to be fair they aren’t trapped in a tomb-like box. They are in the clearing taking part in today’s challenge, where they can win the campmate’s luxury items chosen by their loved ones back home. Lots of hugs and cheering going on. I feel a bromance coming on...

GK talks childhood troubles

Tuesday 19 November 2024 21:42

Ellie Harrison

At camp, Jane asked GK about her time at school, to which GK replied: “I was really lanky… buck teeth, gap, hairy arms, greasy hair.”

Explaining how she overcame it, she revealed: “I used to watch the boxsets of Miranda to learn how to be funny.”

Speaking about red carpet events and social media trolling, GK explained: “There’s this one a******e on TikTok, after every red carpet he’ll sit there and just shame everyone’s outfit.” She admitted that after events she will go searching for it online.

Jane asked her: “Would you go into a crowded bar and go up to someone you don’t know and say, ‘Excuse me, what do you think of me?’”

“No, never,” GK confessed.

Jane replied: “So then why would you do it online?”

The campmates forgave Dean very quickly

Tuesday 19 November 2024 21:34

Ellie Harrison

They’re a lovely bunch, and didn’t hold Dean’s failure to get lots of stars against him. “God loves a trier, mate,” said Tulisa.

I’m sure that GK’s shrieks, upon discovering a leech on her finger, were not a welcome sound so early in the morning for her fellow campmates. “At least we all stayed calm and collected,” she joked afterwards.

Tuesday 19 November 2024 13:28

Maira Butt

Northern Irish BBC Radio 1 DJ Dean McCullough admitted he was “terrified of everything” ahead of his arrival in the jungle.

But now, the 32-year-old, who was dubbed an early fan-favourite because of his ‘Wagatha Christie’ jibe at Coleen Rooney, will be facing his first Bushtucker Trial as he tackles the ‘Sinister Sarcophagus’.

I’m a Celebrity 2024: How much are contestants being paid?

Tuesday 19 November 2024 13:05

Maira Butt

The reality TV juggernaut has been a fixture on screens since 2002 and, over the years, the amount of money paid to the participating contestants has exponentially increased.

This gap has widened even more in the last four years alone, with Noel Edmonds, the one-time highest-paid star, receiving £600,000 for what ended up being just one week in the jungle in 2019.

The 2024 line-up features celebrities ranging from singers Danny Jones (McFly) and Tulisa (N-Dubz) to Loose Women panellist Jane Moore and Love Island’s Maura Higgins.
