A recent post has since earned a 17-year-old boy praise from many Malaysians after his elder sister shared a heartwarming conversation between the pair.

In a series of screenshots of their conversation shared on Threads, @nrbtssy_ was deeply moved by a thoughtful gesture from her younger brother—the second child and eldest son in the family—after he sent her a small sum of money.

Malaysian woman touched after Form 5 brother gives her money to buy food

Her brother, Mohamad Aiman, had transferred RM20 to @nrbtssy_ and encouraged her to use it to get herself something to eat.

She later asked where he got the money from, to which he explained that he had earned RM50 from taking up a job recently.

“I took up a job the other day and received RM50. I used RM30 to buy some food for our home, and I decided to give you the remaining RM20,” Aiman explained.

After realising that the RM20 was all he had left, @nrbtssy_ decided not to take the money. Instead, she reminded the 17-year-old, who is still in school, to keep the money for himself.

“I need to practise taking over our late father’s responsibilities”

However, Aiman declined his sister’s offer to return the money, saying that he had given it to her sincerely and felt it was his responsibility to help out, especially following their father’s passing.

“Please take it. I’m sincere. I am, after all, the eldest son in the family, so I have to be responsible. I need to practise taking over our late father’s responsibilities.

“The Almighty is with us. Take the money and buy yourself something to eat. Also, send me proof that you’ve bought the food,” he said.
