Former Japanese adult star Rae Lil Black, whose real name is Kae Asakura, has broken the silence about her journey towards embracing Islam.

In an interview with a Singaporean host and podcaster, Dzar Ismail, Kae shared about her journey, which had a lot to do with her trip to KL last year.

“These people are so nice, why don’t I try to understand their culture?”

Kae was in Malaysia last year, and while many were excited to see her trying a plate of Nasi Kandar with her bare hands, she was also here for a spiritual reason. Kae, who has always liked studying new things, wanted to understand more about Islam, so she visited the mosques in KL after her Thailand trip.

Kae was welcomed with open arms, which opened her heart to try to understand their culture more.

She didn’t rely solely on the people to help her but also learned through YouTube videos before eventually performing the prayers herself at the mosques. As a newcomer, Kae admitted that it was hard for her, and it was a mess in her head. It took her many attempts before she got her prayers right, which eventually led her to perform 5 daily prayers.

“I decided to pray because I wanted to get help from something ‘bigger and powerful.’ After I did, I felt so, so light.”

“I feel like I have less worry if I keep praying.”

Speaking about judgment from others, Kae admitted that sometimes it hurts.

“But I took a deep breath, then it was okay. It doesn’t matter.”

Despite losing over 1 million followers and having to read many nasty comments, Kae revealed that fortunately, her parents are not against her newfound belief, saying that they noticed that after Kae started to learn more about Islam, it brought her closer to home.

“I spoke to my dad twice a year, previously. Now, I speak to my parents more, catching up with them.”

“I wasn’t into my career for the past 5 years”

When asked about her unpublished videos, Kae said she has a couple of adult videos that she filmed more than a year ago that are still unpublished, and it is entirely up to the company when they want to do so.

“This might cause people to think I’m still active, when I am not.”

She also admitted that she had been feeling lost for many years, and things started to get back on track gradually after she learned more about her newfound belief.
