iCAUR V25 Makes Global Debut In Wuhu: Retro Boxy Styling Meets Dual Powertrains and Factory Customization

Chery Group’s youth-focused new energy marque, iCAUR, has staged the global premiere of the iCAUR V25 at the 2026 iCAUR International User Summit in Wuhu, China.

Positioned as a personalized all-way SUV, the V25 slots neatly into the brand’s rugged V-Series portfolio, bridging the space between the compact, urban-focused V23 and the larger, long-range V27 hybrid crossover.

Rather than leaning into the aerodynamic jelly-bean styling dominating the current electric crossover landscape, iCAUR is betting heavily on distinctive personality, pairing retro off-road proportions with modern electrified architectures to capture younger lifestyle adventurers.

“Future Classic” Design: Boxy Proportions and Upright Stance

Visually, the V25 leans unapologetically into retro utility, built around what the brand calls its “Future Classic” design philosophy.

The exterior silhouette embraces classic two-box architecture, boasting a near 1:1 height-to-width ratio of 0.96. Up front, a flat fascia, clamshell hood, and an upright windshield frame a pair of circular LED headlights with thick-wall optical structures.

The squared-off profile is not just an aesthetic statement—the flat roof and upright pillars yield a 66.4% longitudinal cabin efficiency, maximizing interior passenger headroom and square trunk utility.

Rugged visual cues run throughout the exterior, including flared wheel arches wrapping 21-inch wheels, semi-hidden mechanical door handles, solid rear quarter panels, and a traditional side-hinged tailgate mounted with a full-size spare tire covered by a brick-patterned housing.

Dual Powertrain Choices: Golden REEV and Pure Electric BEV

To give drivers flexibility based on their regional infrastructure and travel habits, the V25 is engineered to support both battery-electric (BEV) and range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) configurations.\

The highlight of the lineup is the Golden REEV powertrain, engineered to eliminate range anxiety during cross-country overland runs:

• Engine Efficiency: Features a dedicated range-extender combustion unit achieving a 44.5% thermal efficiency and an energy conversion rate of 3.71 kWh per liter of petrol.
• Energy Management: Offers five selectable operating modes—Forced EV, EV Priority, Hybrid, Fuel First, and Forced Charge—allowing drivers to reserve battery charge for zero-emission city driving or sustain power for mountain gradients.
• i-AWD Dual-Motor Setup: Built on the i-SWIFT Agile Handling Platform, the electric all-wheel-drive system deploys twin drive motors delivering a combined output of 335 kW (455 PS) and 505 Nm of torque, distributing traction to individual wheels in milliseconds without the weight penalties of traditional mechanical transfer cases.

High-Stiffness Cage Architecture and L2 Driver Assistance

Underneath its retro shell, the V25 utilizes a rigid safety cage constructed from five horizontal and six vertical load-bearing beams. Advanced high-strength steel makes up 80% of the body structure, yielding a torsional rigidity rating of 30,000 Nm/deg to ensure structural integrity across unpaved trails and washboard logging routes.

Cabin occupant safety is managed by six perimeter airbags plus an additional front-center airbag to mitigate head-to-head collisions during side impacts, paired with dual-stage load-limiting seatbelts.

On the electronics front, the SUV incorporates a comprehensive Level 2 driver assistance suite. Key active safety systems include Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), a Driver Monitoring System (DMS), a 540-degree panoramic chassis camera, and an Automated Parking Assist (APA) program.

Built for Camping: 20+ Modification Interfaces and Lie-Flat Cabin

Recognizing that modern lifestyle owners enjoy personalizing their vehicles, iCAUR engineered the V25 around open factory modification.

The vehicle features more than 20 native physical and electrical modification points, enabling owners to install rooftop tents, auxiliary lights, gear racks, and outdoor accessories without splicing factory wiring or drilling into structural panels. Outdoor recreation is further supported by a rated 1.8-tonne towing capacity and a high-output 6 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) external discharge system capable of running heavy camping equipment and induction cooktops.

Inside, the cabin offers class-leading practical flexibility:

• Storage Solutions: Features 41 independent storage compartments scattered throughout the interior, alongside a 1,549-litre rear load capacity. BEV variants add a front luggage trunk (frunk) and 22 litres of hidden underfloor storage.
• Mobile Camp Mode: Front seats fold completely flat to meet the rear bench, creating an open bed platform beneath a large panoramic glass sunroof fitted with an electric sunblind.
• Cabin Comfort: Outfitted with perforated microfiber upholstery, power adjustment, heating, ventilation, and memory functions for the front seats, complemented by a 15-speaker premium audio setup.

During the launch event, iCAUR also previewed official factory-customized design studies, including the gaming-inspired V25 Game Changer, with market rollouts across international export destinations slated to commence from early 2027.
