Ten iconic buildings across four states will be illuminated in Jalur Gemilang colours to mark Malaysia as host of the 2027 SEA Games.

TEN iconic buildings across four states will be illuminated in the colours of the Jalur Gemilang tomorrow evening.

The lighting ceremony marks Malaysia’s celebration as the host of the 2027 SEA Games.

The buildings are located in the host states of Kuala Lumpur, Kuching, Johor Bahru and Penang.

The Petronas Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur Tower and DBKL Tower are among the structures involved.

Other sites include KOMTAR, PWCC Penang, the Sultan Abdul Halim Bridge and the Satok Bridge.

The Kuching North City Hall Building, Darul Hana Musical Fountain and areas around Iskandar Puteri, Johor will also be lit.

The Bukit Jalil National Stadium will also be bathed in red, yellow, blue and white lights.

Malaysia SEA Games Organising Committee (MASOC) CEO Abdul Rashid Yaakub said the commitment from all four states is a positive sign.

“The lighting of the buildings is symbolic of Malaysia’s celebration as the host of the SEA Games for the 7th time,” he said.

He added that the committee wants sports fans and all Malaysians to feel excited about the celebration.

LED screens at strategic locations in the four host cities will also feature celebratory graphic displays.

The illumination coincides with the SEA Games Federation (SEAGF) flag handover ceremony in Bangkok.

The closing ceremony of the 2025 Thailand SEA Games begins at 7.00 pm at Rajamangala Stadium.

Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari and OCM president Tan Sri Dr Norza Zakaria will receive the SEAGF flag.

Malaysia’s segment in the closing performance will feature artists Mimi Fly, Amir Jahari and Marsha Milan.

They will be joined by 60 dancers from various ethnicities.
