PETALING JAYA: The identity of the blind man found dead on the tracks at the Titiwangsa LRT station yesterday is still unknown, say police.
Sentul police chief Sukarno Zahari said four people have given their statements to assist in the investigation, including the complainant who alerted the police and staff at the LRT station.

Earlier, the Kuala Lumpur fire and rescue department identified the victim as a Chinese man believed to be blind. A preliminary investigation suggested that the man had lost his balance and fallen onto the tracks before being struck by a train.

Read more The incident prompted transport minister Loke Siew Fook to order all rail station operators to review and improve their safety features, particularly their facilities for persons with disabilities.
Loke said Prasarana will implement several measures, including the installation of smart CCTV cameras capable of detecting high-risk behaviour at stations, to curb similar incidents.
