THE identity of a woman whose body was found inside a bag buried behind an unoccupied house in Kampung Batu 4 Pedas, Rembau, has yet to be established, police said, citing the advanced state of decomposition of the remains.

Negeri Sembilan deputy police chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Idzam Jaafar said the condition of the body suggests the victim had been dead for more than three days.

“We have taken deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) samples believed to belong to the victim’s family, and the process of obtaining the results will take some time,” he said.

A post-mortem examination was conducted today at Hospital Rembau, but Muhammad Idzam said the cause of death could not be determined.

“The post-mortem was carried out today at Hospital Rembau, but the cause of death has been classified as ‘undetermined’ due to the decomposed condition of the body,” he told Bernama last night.

In a related development, police have made a second arrest to assist in the investigation. Muhammad Idzam said the latest suspect, believed to be the main suspect and aged 51, was arrested in Genting Sempah, Pahang, at about 3.09pm today.

The arrest followed the detention of the first suspect in Melaka yesterday, bringing the total number of individuals held in connection with the case to two.

The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. - December 20, 2025
