KOTA KINABALU: In the spirit of charity during Ramadan, the Institute for Development Studies (Sabah) (IDS) organized a community service program at Sri Pritchard Senior Home in Kinarut on Wednesday.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, the program aimed to instill volunteerism among IDS staff while promoting care for the elderly.
Led by IDS CEO Datuk Ts. Dr. Ramzah Dambul, volunteers engaged in cleaning activities, personal care services, and interactive sessions to bring joy to the residents. IDS also donated essential supplies, including food and personal care items.
Dr. Ramzah emphasized that holistic development includes social well-being, stating, Ramadan is the perfect time to extend kindness, especially to the elderly who are often overlooked.
"IDS hopes to inspire more organizations to participate in community service, fostering a culture of social responsibility in Sabah," he added.
