THE Immigration Department is investigating a viral video circulating on TikTok that allegedly shows a forged passport passing through security checks at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 2.

Immigration Director-General Datuk Zakaria Shaaban confirmed that the probe is being conducted from multiple angles.

“So far, no formal reports have been received by the Immigration Department regarding the allegation.

“We are in the process of identifying the TikTok account involved and do not rule out summoning airline personnel suspected of assisting in the incident to aid our investigation,” he said in an interview with Sinar Harian on Wednesday.

Zakaria emphasised that the department treats the allegation with utmost seriousness, noting its potential to alarm the public. He also called on anyone with information related to the matter to come forward to assist with the inquiry.

The TikTok clip purportedly shows security personnel, believed to be from an airline, inspecting the passport of a foreign national. After several minutes of checks, the individual appeared to be allowed to board the aircraft, according to the footage.

The Immigration Department is now examining the incident closely to determine how such a breach could have occurred and to reinforce the integrity of airport security procedures. - November 26, 2025
