Leaders across Punjab, Haryana and Union Territory Chandigarh on Sunday participated in yoga day events and asked people to make its practice an integral part of their lives.

BJP president Nitin Nabin, who is on a three-day visit to Punjab, performed yoga at an event at Lovely Professional University in Phagwara.

BJP general secretary Tarun Chugh, Punjab BJP chief Kewal Dhillon, Rajya Sabha MPs Ashok Mittal and Vikramjit Sahney were also present.

In a post on X, Nabin said yoga is an invaluable gift given to the world by Indian sages, which paved the way for spiritual peace along with balance of body and mind.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini performed yoga at an event in Panchkula (Tribune Photo: Vicky), while Punjab cabinet ministers Aman Arora and Balbir Singh participated in events in Sunam and Patiala respectively.

Saini said yoga is an invaluable knowledge from India’s ancient cultural heritage that has shown the entire world the path to a healthy life and inner balance.

Yoga is not merely a means to keep the body healthy, but it is also a powerful practice to make mind calm, thoughts positive and life disciplined.
