After five years of transformation, the island of Bendor has unveiled an entirely new look. Zannier, its five-star hotel, promises an exceptional getaway. This is a new jewel on the Mediterranean that is ready to be discovered from this summer onwards.
Off the Var coastline in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, an iconic destination has regained its former splendour. Since 1 May 2026, the Zannier Île de Bendor hotel has once again been welcoming guests following an extensive redevelopment project that has completely transformed this private seven-hectare island. Just a seven-minute boat ride from the town of Bandol, the island offers a peaceful retreat far removed from the bustle of the mainland.
This ambitious project was born from the partnership between the family of Pierre Ricard, who have owned the island since the 1950s, and the luxury hospitality group Zannier Hotels, renowned for its exceptional properties around the world. With its reopening, the five-star hotel aims to become one of the Mediterranean’s most sought-after destinations.
Three distinct worlds to experience the island differently
The resort now features 93 rooms and suites spread across three separate areas. Each has its own identity, offering a unique way to enjoy the island experience to the fullest.

Delos, the first, captures the elegance of the French Riviera in the 1960s, with refined décor and bright interiors that open onto the sea. Soukana, meanwhile, embraces a more soothing aesthetic inspired by the Mediterranean’s mineral landscapes. The Madrague Houses pay tribute to traditional fishermen’s homes through their colourful façades and proximity to the harbour. Whichever area guests choose, every room enjoys views over the Mediterranean.
A gastronomic destination in the heart of the Mediterranean
The culinary offering is one of the resort’s greatest strengths. Spread across the island, three restaurants, four bars, a café and a crêperie — all overseen by Chef Lionel Levy — provide a variety of dining experiences throughout the day.
At the heart of the estate lies Nonna Bazaar, celebrating Mediterranean flavours in a warm and convivial setting. Just a few steps away, Bar Patrick invites guests to linger over a drink and savour the atmosphere.

Visitors should also make time for Nonna Beach, located beside the shoreline and welcoming guests from lunch through to sunset. Fine-dining enthusiasts can discover Le Grand Large, an elegant restaurant with a strong focus on the sea. Soukana Restaurant showcases Asian-inspired fusion cuisine, complemented by a rooftop venue serving cocktails, mocktails and tapas. Meanwhile, La Table du Delos reinterprets the chic spirit of the Côte d’Azur with a menu built around simple, carefully selected ingredients.
Wellness and leisure activities on the agenda
Beyond its accommodation, Zannier Île de Bendor has been conceived as a genuine lifestyle destination. Its 1,200-square-metre wellness centre is among the largest in the region. Guests can enjoy a hammam, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, treatment rooms, a yoga platform, a fitness suite, as well as tennis and pickleball courts.

Visitors can also wander through the Artisans’ Village, discover artworks displayed across the island, or take part in a wide range of activities. Options include paddleboarding, boat excursions, introductory ceramics workshops and Pilates sessions. It is the perfect hotel for those seeking relaxation, rejuvenation and a truly memorable escape.
