
The Delhi Government on Sunday organised a special “Shaurya Diwas” programme at Central Park in Connaught Place to commemorate the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor. The event witnessed participation from Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra, ex-servicemen, youth, social organisations and a large gathering of citizens who came together to honour the courage and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces.
The event was marked by patriotic fervour as renowned singer Ashish Kulkarni delivered patriotic performances that filled the venue with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram”.
Addressing the gathering, CM Gupta said that “Shaurya Diwas” was an occasion to salute the bravery and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces. She said that through Operation Sindoor, India had delivered a strong response to terrorism and those supporting it.
She said, “Shaurya Diwas” is an occasion to salute the indomitable courage, bravery and sacrifice of the Indian Armed Forces. She stated that through Operation Sindoor, India gave a befitting reply to terrorism and its handlers, sending a clear message to the world that India will never compromise on its security, sovereignty and national honour.
Referring to the April 22 terror attack, the CM described the incident as deeply painful and said it had shaken the nation and united citizens in grief and anger. She credited the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ensuring a decisive response against terrorism.
She further stated that Operation Sindoor represented the emotions and pride of the entire nation and paid tribute to soldiers serving in difficult conditions across the country’s borders.
The CM said, “Operation Sindoor was not merely a military operation, but a symbol of the emotions, national pride and honour of 1.4 billion Indians.”
She also said, “India believes in peace, but anyone who casts an evil eye on the nation will receive a befitting reply.” Speaking at the programme, Mishra said the country continued to uphold a legacy of courage and determination under the leadership of PM Modi.
He said, “Even today, the same DNA of bravery flows through the veins of India. Under the leadership of PM Modi, the Indian Armed Forces are writing a new chapter of glory, sending a clear message to infiltrators and terrorists alike. India does not provoke anyone, but if anyone dares to challenge the nation, a strong response will be ensured.”
Highlighting the significance of the event, Mishra added, “Today, we have gathered here to salute and honour our brave soldiers. This evening will witness poetry recitations and patriotic songs, but above all, it is dedicated to the honour of the brave sons of Mother India. Together, we will contribute towards building a Viksit Bharat and work to realise the vision of PM Modi.”
