Social media influencers are raking in the money.
So, do not look down upon them but join them instead and enjoy the benefits of side incomes without quitting your day job.
I have heard of YouTube influencers and social media opinion leaders who make serious money by putting their talents to good use.
For instance an Indonesian maid in Malaysia who has built a great following with a regular cooking programme is also getting well rewarded for her efforts on YouTube.
On the other hand an old colleague Chef Jo of Masterchef Malaysia fame is also cashing in with his Facebook page of daily culinary creations that has more than a million followers.
Recently the World of Buzz reported that "in a response to her management company who is threatening to sue her for breach of contract, an influencer revealed that she was offered RM20,000 per month in her new contract."
The report also stated that the revelation shocked Malaysians "at the amount of money that was being put on the table for such influencers."
Traditional high paying jobs like law and medicine do not offer such high monthly income for rookies.
According to the World of Buzz "one user pointed out how engineers have to study for 4 years and work like crazy without any holidays but mostly only to get RM2,000 to RM2,500 per month."
