Kota Kinabalu: Police are appealing for public assistance following two cases of money lending business premises being splashed with red paint here.

 Acting Kota Kinabalu District Police Chief Supt Syed Lot Syed Ab Rahman said anyone with information should come forward.

The first case involved a premises at Api-Api Centre, while the second at a premises in Jalan Perpaduan, Kampung Air.

Both premises were splashed with red paint by unknown individuals. The incidents believed to have occurred at night based on closed-circuit television footage.

“No injuries were reported. However, the incidents have caused damage and defacement to property, as well as raising concerns about the safety of premises and their surroundings,” Syed Lot said.

Both cases are being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code. Police have recorded statements from victims, inspected the crime scenes and are in the process of identifying the suspects.

He said action would be taken against any parties involved in committing such crime.
