Kota Kinabalu: Proceedings in the Coroner's Court in the inquest into the death of Zara Qairina Mahathir paused on Friday for a one-minute silence to mark the first anniversary of her death.
Coroner Amir Shah Amir Hassan directed everyone in the courtroom to stand in solemn respect before the hearing resumed with the testimony of the 75th deponent.
Muslims recited Surah Al-Fatihah and prayed for the deceased, while non-Muslims observed a moment of reflection or prayer according to their respective faiths.
The proceedings resumed after the Coroner thanked those present for observing the tribute.
