Today, she was brought before Magistrate Aina Azahra Arifin and charged with voluntarily obstructing a policeman, Lance Corporal Malvinderjit Singh Teerath Singh, 37, from carrying out his patrol duty.

The offence was allegedly committed in front of a restaurant in Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah, Dang Wangi, here between 8.15 pm and 8.30 pm last Nov 4.

The police inspector, whose real name is Sheila Sharon Steven Kumar, 37, pleaded not guilty to the charge, framed under Section 186 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum prison sentence of two years or a fine of up to RM10,000 or both, if convicted.
