A WOMAN known as ‘Inspector Sheila’, accused of mocking police officers during a routine stop of a Pakistani national, is set to be charged in court in the near future.
Kuala Lumpur Police Chief, Datuk Fadil Marsus, confirmed that the investigation papers concerning Sheila Sharon Steven Kumar have been referred to the Deputy Public Prosecutor’s office. “
The investigation is complete and we will charge her in court in the near future,” he said at a press conference following Deepavali celebrations at the Kuala Lumpur Police Contingent Headquarters today.
The incident occurred on Jalan Ipoh on 4 November, when Sheila reportedly ridiculed officers who had detained and checked a Pakistani man for driving without a licence.
Following the incident, the officer filed a report.
Sheila is being investigated under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public servant from carrying out their duties and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act for insulting a public servant.
A video of the incident circulated widely on social media, showing Sheila alleging that the officers had intimidated the motorcyclist.
Sheila has been suspended from duty since 23 June 2023 in connection with previous cases, including insulting a police officer and allegedly threatening an elderly woman. - November 11, 2025
