Inter Milan GM Beppe Marotta says he left Juventus at the right time for him.
Marotta also insists the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo had nothing to do with the decision.
He told DAZN: "Many years have passed, I'll be back for sympathy. I must recognise the 10 years spent at Juventus, which were wonderful. When the owners wanted to undertake a different strategy the manager had to take a step back and I did.
"It was right to respect the will of the club. That of Cristiano Ronaldo was partly not what I agreed, the player is not in question, but the operation was demanding from an economic point of view.
"That wasn't the element that led to the divorce, the cycle had come to an end and we had to change."
