Students from Classes I to X will get an opportunity to test and improve their knowledge of computer science, cyber security and safe internet usage through the International Cyber Olympiad 2026. The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Punjab, has directed all government, aided and private schools in the state to encourage maximum student participation in the prestigious competition.

The Olympiad will be conducted in two rounds. The first round will be held at the school-level in offline mode. The one-hour examination can be conducted anytime between August and December 2026. Schools must complete the registration process at least 20 days before the examination date. The second round, which will be held at the international-level, will be conducted online. Only students from Classes III to X who qualify in the first round will be eligible to participate. The syllabus for students is based on NCERT guidelines and the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. All questions in the examination will be multiple-choice questions and students will mark their answers on OMR sheets. A registration fee of Rs 150 per student has been fixed for participation. All registered students will receive free access to the syllabus, sample papers, Cyberpedia study material and mock tests.

The organisers have announced attractive prizes for winners. At the international- level, the first-place winner will receive Rs 5,100, the second-place winner Rs 3,100 and the third-place winner Rs 2,100, along with CyberHero Trophies and Certificates of Excellence.

At the regional and school levels, top-performing students will be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals. Special medals and certificates will also be given to students of Classes I and II based on their performance.

Schools with more than 150 participants will also receive recognition. The school principal and Olympiad coordinator will be honoured with appreciation certificates and trophies.
