Kota Kinabalu: International FC were crowned champions in the Battle of the 50’s Football Challenge organised by Penampang Unity Football Club at the Penampang Sports Complex on Sunday.

In the final, they defeated ABKA7 5-4 in a shoot-out to take home the RM7,000 cash prize, while ABKA7 settled for RM4,000.

Advertisement (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});Earlier in the semi-finals, International FC defeated GAB Membakut 3-0, while ABKA7 edged Mimpagaat Titan 2-0. Both losing semi-finalists each also received RM1,700.

A total of 19 teams from all over Sabah with one from Brunei participated in the two-day competition.
