Here’s what you need to know about wellness company MOSH, a brand created by Patrick Schwarzenegger and his mum, Maria Shriver.

You might know him from his recent turn as enlightened douche Saxon Ratliffe in the recently concluded third season of the hit HBO show The White Lotus. But Patrick Schwarzenegger has done a lot more than just acting. The 31-year-old has long been business-minded, franchising a Chipotle-esque pizza chain called Blaze Pizzas back in 2020 and investing in the vegan chicken company named Nuggs.

Schwarzenegger is also very into fitness. In fact, he’s divulged that the filming this season was more health-focused than previous seasons. “It’s funny because we would hear stories about last season’s set, or even the first season’s, and how different it was,” he said in an interview with Men’s Health. “They did so much partying, and ours was so oriented on fitness, health, and wellness—even behind the camera, not just on-set.”

It’s not surprising then that he’s the co-founder of MOSH, which is touted as a brain health and wellness company. Founded with his mother, Maria Shriver, MOSH prides itself in making protein bars “with functional brain + body nutrients”. But the mother-son duo didn’t just start MOSH because they wanted their own wellness company.

MOSH is “The Brain Brand” founded by Patrick Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver

The reason Shriver and Schwarzenegger started MOSH goes deeper than just starting a business. In an interview with Fitt Insider, Schwarzenegger explained, “My grandfather (my mom’s father) Sargent Shriver was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2003. Our hope is to help save other families from enduring the same experience of seeing a family member’s mind slowly slip away.”

Shriver, who calls his mom a “protein bar fanatic”, was on the hunt for a protein bar that had ingredients that would be beneficial not just for the body but also for the brain. That’s how MOSH’s variety of protein bars was born. The bars contain ingredients like Omega-3 and Cognizin Citicoline that are helpful in maintaining brain health.

Schwarzenegger makes one thing clear though: MOSH isn’t just a protein bar brand. “We trademarked The Brain Brand with the hopes of one day having a slew of product lines that support brain health, like supplements, powders, and more alongside the bars,” he explains. The bran is still expanding its product line but it’s exciting to look forward to what else MOSH will have to offer in the future.
