Kota Kinabalu: The State Government has designated Invest Sabah Berhad (ISB) as its single-window agency to coordinate, screen, and conduct due diligence on all investment proposals submitted to the State.
Effective Sept 2, 2026, the mandate tasks the agency with acting as the principal coordinator across ministries, technical departments, and local authorities to streamline approvals and reduce duplication for local and international investors.
Under a State directive, all public bodies receiving investment enquiries or proposals must refer them to ISB for coordination, subject to existing arrangements within designated industrial parks.
ISB Chairman Roger Chin (pic) said proposals will be assessed under the Sabah Maju Jaya 2.0 framework based on investor capability, feasibility, and potential for local job creation, technology transfer, and supply chain development.
He added that relevant regulatory authorities will retain their statutory powers over licences, permits, and approvals, while park-managing agencies will share data with ISB to support statewide coordination.
