AUTHORITIES are investigating a woman known as ‘Inspector Sheila’ over allegations that she obstructed policemen and made inappropriate remarks while they were carrying out their duties, Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus confirmed.

The incident took place outside a pizza restaurant on Jalan Ipoh at around 9.30pm yesterday, while policemen were detaining a 34-year-old Pakistani man for driving without a licence.

“While the policemen was dealing with the driver, a woman known as Sheila suddenly approached from behind. She allegedly accused the policeman of threatening the Pakistani driver,” Fadil said.

He added that the woman also reportedly accused the policeman of “not knowing the law” and made remarks intended to undermine the credibility of the police at the scene.

Following the incident, the policeman involved filed a police report.

“The case is being investigated under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing a public servant from performing their duty, and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955 for indecent or insulting behaviour in a public place. Further investigations are ongoing to complete the case file,” he said.

A video shared by the woman on social media alleging that the policeman had threatened a Pakistani man went viral prior to the police statement.
