
Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadihas flown to Oman where he met a senior Omani diplomat for talks on the Strait of Hormuz, the minister announced on Monday.
Gharibabadimet Abdulaziz Al Hinai for the first session of a newly established committee. The talks covered current issues as well as the future administration of the Strait of Hormuz and the sovereign rights of both coastal states, he wrote on X.
No further details were immediately available.
The conflict between the United States and Iran flared up again at the weekend with mutual strikes. Less than two weeks ago, the warring parties signed a framework agreement intended to pave the way for a permanent end to the war.
The opening of the strait to shipping is a central element of the recently agreed deal.
